There's an air of mystery and sense of intrigue surrounding the galaxy's most feared bounty hunter, Boba Fett. Although Fett appeared only briefly in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and was a man of few words, he does have one of the coolest-looking costumes in the entire Star Wars trilogy. The suit of a Mandalorian warrior, it was designed largely by artist Joe Johnston, who has since gone on to become a film director.

Adding to his luster, the Boba Fett character was first introduced to the public in an animated short that was part of the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special. When it came to flesh and blood, however, the Empire's fiercest skip tracer was portrayed by one of the gentlest of British actors, Jeremy Bulloch. "I had no idea at the time what I was letting myself in for, Bulloch says. But because of Fett's strong presence and his pivotal role in the plot, he has become a cult figure-as has Bulloch, who has recently made appearances at numerous science-fiction conventions.

Bulloch is a familiar face to British audiences for his numerous film, television and stage roles in everything from episodes of Doctor Who to playing Edward of Wickham in the Robin of Sherwood series. Unmasked, he also played a brief scene as an Imperial Officer in The Empire Strikes Back, filling in for an absent actor. Getting into his Fett role, Bulloch says, "I looked at the machinery on my arms and the jetpack (on my back) and I knew he had to be something special."
