The 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) has the crucial job of flying elite commando units to their mission objectives. Known as the Night Stalkers, the 160th provides aviation support for Special Operations Forces (SOF) including the Army Rangers and the Navy SEALs. The men of the 160th are specially trained for the swift, highly dangerous missions conducted by Special Ops commandos. Flying AH-6 Little Bird light observation helicopters, UH-60 Black Hawk utility helicopters, and CH-47 Chinook medium-lift helicopters, the Night Stalkers insert, extract and re-supply SOF in hostile territory. They pioneered night flight capabilities and have exhibited time and again their impressive ability to strike undetected in the dark. Night Stalkers have taken part in missions in Grenada, Somalia, Panama and the Gulf War. As their motto states, "Night Stalkers Don't Quit" they are always ready for deployment at a moment's notice to help the Special Operations Forces perform their critical missions anywhere in the world.
