After Callisto, the Warrior Goddess, is sent back in time to carry out Dahak's plan to eliminate Hercules before he is even born, Ares uses his own power to allow Iolaus to follow her into the past. At one point, Iolaus encounters a young Xena, a great warlord not yet ready to turn away from evil. Later, Iolaus appears in Corinth where he finds Xena the Conqueror in command. The evil Warrior Princess is preparing to crucify an outspoken village girl from Poteidaia, Gabreille. Luckily, Iolaus manages to prevent the death of the infant Hercules, restoring the timeline. The sone of Zeus escapes from the Netherworld where he has been trapped with his alternate, the Sovereign. Upon returning to his own reality, he defeats Callisto and tosses her into the Vortex, thereby putting a final end to Dahak's plans.
