WCW NWO Starcade Clash of the Champions Sting vs Hollywood Hogan Figures 77086

Billed as "the match of the decade", the fervor and anticipation for this match was unparalleled. Hogan was hell-bent on holding onto his long time world champion status and Sting was determined to unseat Hogan, and in essence, the entire NWO. A Hogan thumb to the eye sent Sting to the outside where Hogan threw Sting into the announcer's table then delivered a hard slam to Sting with his own bat before throwing him into a steel ring post. Sting attempted a Stinger Splash but missed and landed on the guardrail. Back inside the ring, Hogan delivered a boot to the throat and two drop kicks to the weakened Sting. Before anyone knew what happened, referee Nick Patrick gave Sting a three count and ordered for the bell to ring. Bret Hart complained that Sting was the victim of a fast count and ordered the match restarted. Sting, revived from the beating he had taken, went after Hogan with a vengeance. As assorted NWO members hit the ring, Sting threw them all outside. At last, the silent hero used his patented Stinger Splash and slapped the Scorpion Deathlock on a beaten Hogan. Hart declared Sting the rightful winner of the match and the WOW World Title. Sting had finally fulfilled his silent promise to WCW fans everywhere.
