Enterprise™ represented all races, genders, and religious persuasions from both Earth and the worlds of the Federation. The helmsman was Asian. The communications officer was a Swahili woman.

The navigator was a Russian. The first officer wasn't even from Earth- he was an alien. And Starfleet's Prime Directive required its officers not to interfere in the normal development of any society.
