Star Trek Captain Pike's Starfleet Laser Pistol 1997 Playmates 16127

Under the command of Captain Christopher Pike, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 responded to a distress call from a downed ship on the planet Talos IV. The Enterprise crew encountered a powerful race of telepaths capable of creating illusions.

When the Talosians kidnapped Captain Pike, Mr. Spock, Humber Une and the other Enterprise offi-cers used Starfleet Laser Pistols and cannons in an attempt to blast their way into the Talosians' underground fortress. Although it appeared that the barrage had no effect, a Talosian illusion kept them from seeing that the lasers had actually blown through the sealed entrance. Pike used his person-al Laser Pistol to blast a hole in his "cage," and return to the surface.

In the latter half of the 23rd Century, Laser Pistols were replaced with Phasers".
