Barbie® doll wearing Sophisticated Lady®, a 1963 fashion reproduction, is the third doll in the Collector's Request® Collection developed specifically for Barbie® doll collectors worldwide.

She is the height of early sixties' elegance, looking very regal in her majestic evening ensemble. The year is 1963, a time of optimism, change and sophisticated style... and Barbie® is in the fashion forefront.

This Limited Edition reproduces two Barbie® originals: Barbie® doll with a bubble cut and pink lips, pink fingernails and toenails, and the hard-to-find fashion, "Sophisticated Lady" (#993). The taffeta ball gown, trimmed in silver tone filigree lace, has a wide, sweeping skirt. Adding to the dramatic effect is a fully lined sleeveless coat with stand-up collar and silvery bead buttons. A silvery tiara, opera-length gloves, a simple strand of pink and white faux pearls, pink earrings and pink open-toe pumps complete her royal ensemble.
