Fatigued by the journey through the mountains and rendered nearly hopeless by the unrelenting weight of the Ring, Frodo crosses the ashen wasteland with Sam at his side. In tattered garb and beaked helmets, the two are passable Orcs, as they make their way toward the Mount Doom and the penultimate fulfillment of their quest.
