It's a bet -- who has the harder job, women and their housework, or men and their bread winning? The gang decides to switch places: Lucy and Ethel will get jobs and Ricky and Fred will do all the homemaking. Lucy and Ethel land a job at Kramer's Kandy Kitchen after fibbing that they are candy makers. They fail miserably and are fired on their first day. Ricky and Fred do no better, scorching shirts and ruining the dinner. When the gals return home, they all agree to call off the bet and go back to the jobs they each do best.
