In the world of drag racing, there's a class for every car. Cars that ran with gasoline powered engines and maintained a stock wheelbase were known as the Gas Coupe & Sedan class, which eventually became known as 'Gassers'. This was a popular class of racing in the '50s & '60s, and many of these cars were modified with engines that were set further back and used a solid front axle for less weight up front and improved weight transfer to the rear tires upon launch. This '55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser is a replica of Hot Wheels designer Brendon Vetuskey's own 1955 Chevy gasser. The vintage style Triassic-Five graphics decorate the Spectraflame™ light green paint, while the exposed 454 big block Chevy engine pops up just over the fenders. Bright white long tube exhaust headers stick out above the matte black RR5 spoke slotted wheels, and the 3 YARDS license plate detail adds a final touch of personalization to this classic masterpiece.
