Description
The "Art Deco"-styled trucks! First introduced in the fall of 1940, these trucks featured all-new styling influenced by the Art Deco movement of industrial design. The sealed-beam headlights were streamlined into the fenders, instead of mounted separately on top as on previous models. A 90hp, 216ci "straight six" six-cylinder engine was standard in the Chevy medium-duty line, with a 93hp, 235ci "Load-Master" available that generated 192 ft-lbs of torque. Likewise, three different engines were available in the GMC medium-duty truck, up to a 270ci workhorse powerplant. Production ran until may of 1947, when they were replaced with the "Advance Design Series" of trucks.
