the 1936 Pennsylvania Torpedo model train set is an enduring example of Lionel's innovation and craftsmanship, even in the depths of the Great Depression. The set included the 238E Pennsylvania Torpedo engine, 265W whistling tender, and 601 observation car.
The 601 observation car was red in color with its number and "OBSERVATION" inset in white on both sides. With many spacious windows, it's where imagined miniature passengers would have relaxed and enjoyed the view of "O" gauge Lionel tracks receding into the distance behind them.
