Description
This ornament is a replica of the Lionel tender (1862T), issued with the General Steam Locomotive in the late 1950s. The original General locomotive was famous for its involvement in the Civil War. In 1862 Union soldiers deep in Confederate territory captured the locomotive- but before they could reach Union troops, the General was retaken by the Confederates.
