Description
Introducing the Franklin Mint Collection Armour Series 1:48 scale FW190 Focke Wulf fighter plane! This model is historically accurate with amazing details featuring the highly distinctive 'red tulip' paint scheme famously applied to the nose and engine cowling of certain Luftwaffe Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighters during World War II. Mostly associated with Major Hermann Graf. Graf was one of Germany's top-scoring 'Experten' (aces), and commanding officer of the Ergänzungs-Jagdgruppe Ost (JGr. Ost) in France in 1943. The Focke-Wulf Fw 190, was widely known as the Würger (or 'Butcher Bird), and was one of the premier German piston-engine fighters of World War II. The Luftwaffe produced history's most successful fighter aces, with over 100 pilots claiming more than 100 aerial victories each. Operating primarily on the Eastern Front, these pilots achieved massive tallies through superior tactics, immense flight hours, and looser aerial victory criteria.
