Description
Edith Bolling Wilson married our twenty eighth President, Woodrow, a year and a half after his previous wife's death and was a great comfort and support to him not only during his time of grief but also during the immediate years when this country became involved in the war which so threatened Europe. With deep consideration and respect Mrs. Wilson purposely kept the entertaining in the White House to a minimum as the war was a sobering time for all and took its heavy toll in lost lives. This was a great woman who proudly accompanied her husband to Europe on two peace missions.
