Probably no building in all of England is as well known or historically important as the Tower of London. Officially named Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress, the Tower of London is the oldest inhabited palace in the world. The entire London Tower actually consists of twenty towers. There are thirteen on the inner wall, six on the outer wall, and White Tower in the center of the eighteen-acre complex. White Tower is the oldest building, begun in 1078 by William the Conqueror; it took twenty years to build. William led the last successful invasion of England the strategic placement of White Tower, overlooking the city of London and the River Thames, helped defend the country from outside aggressors in the centuries to follow. It was referred to as La Tour Blanche (White Tower) by the Normans from the beginning because of the pale-colored stones used in its construction. In the 13th century, Henry III was the first to order whitewash be used to maintain the White Tower's appearance.

The Heritage Village Collection includes several lighted Village series, each with its own distinctive style.
