Description
In Charles Dickens' 19th century England, street vendors known as 'costermongers' sold fruit, fish, flowers or other goods from wheeled carts or barrows. They could be heard enticing shoppers on market day with loud, cheerful shouts advertising their wares as they wheeled their carts through the colorful street markets.
