Code 3 Clark County GMC 1999 Fire Department 40 Die Cast Vehicle 12360

From November 23, 1953 until January 1, 1954 CCFD operated day shifts out of Las Vegas Fire Department Station 2 (Huntridge Station) at the southwest corner of Maryland Parkway and East Charleston Blvd. On January 1, 1954 Station 11 opened at 88 E. Flamingo Road. They had one 1953 Seagrave 750 gpm pumper operated by 2 crews of four men. The building had two stalls and cost $33,000 to build.

William H. Trelease was appointed the first Fire Chief, and he, along with Captain Joe Merrill, Driver Gerald Manchester, and fire fighters Herman "Kit" Carson and Stan Chuven made up Platoon "A". Platoon "B" consisted of Captain Robert Taylor, Driver Clell Henley, and fire fighters Norman Forsythe and Merritt Tallman. These men worked a 96 hour work week
