Traveling the continents in search of a unique Ball Gown, Barbie found herself on Java Island, Indonesia and came across an exquisite fabric design locally called "Batik". She immediately fell in love with the style and with the help of her friends at Mattel Indonesia, created a beautiful gown fit for any grand event.

Indonesian Batik is created with the intricate use of local dyes and wax to segregate colors and form subtle patterns. When originally introduced, the Javanese reserved Batik solely for Javanese Royalty. Batik, nowadays is broadly used by people across the world in a variety of clothing styles.

Batik Princess Barbie wears a ball gown made of Pink Chiffon Batik decorated by romanitic pastel floral print, with faux-pearl necklace and earrings accessories.

Barbie has astounded us again and by acting as a global ambassador, she has bridged the gap between East and West.
