Forty years ago, the founders of McKee Foods Corporation, Mr. and Mrs. O. D. McKee, created a 5-cent individual Oatmeal Creme Pie snack cake they were quite proud of, but they didn't have a name to put on the 49-cent family pack carton. After considering the names of their grandchildren, "Debra," their four-year-old granddaughter's name sounded just right. Complete with a picture taken of her in her favorite cowgirl hat and a cheerful smile, the name Little Debbie® became legendary.
