Another 3-in-1 toy, the Recreation Van features a number of innovations, including a two-and-a quarter-inch friction-powered, wheelie-popping motorcycle. The lights on the first ever Hess Motorcycle are operated by twisting the helmet of the driver to an on or off position, but the big fun happens when it's revved up, balanced on its back wheel, and wheelies away. The Dune Buggy, with working headlights and taillights, off-road tires and roll cage, also has a push-friction engine. The Recreation Van has thirty tracking lights, side-compartment doors that become motorcycle ramps and a back door that opens by pressing the license plate to access a slide out ramp for the dune buggy.
