"Rarity is the new definition of luxury."
Zac Posen designs for the contemporary, intelligent woman who is adventurous and drawn to rare and exceptional things. "Rarity is the new definition of luxury," states this hottest of young designers who is adored by actresses, musicians, and A-list celebrities. His captivating designs are opulent and highly desired, worn and collected in New York and Hollywood Zac's gowns-intended for the chicest red carpet events-show pure sophistication, with a very trendy, young twist.
Since completing design school in New York, Zac Posen has taken the fashion world by storm. Zac's unique aesthetic includes draped, asymmetrical, and strapless gowns that always take the spotlight. His brilliance in the field of design has won him a number of awards and brought him international acclaim. A bohemian childhood spent in artsy Soho, New York has given his designs an artistic underpinning; additional inspiration comes from fashion designers of the 1930s and '40s, whom Zac admires for their ingenuity and wizardry. Today, Zac Posen works from his Tribeca studio, creating both couture and daytime designs, which are meant for the modern woman whose singular style is entirely feminine.
Now, Zac Posen looks to his own atelier to create an extraordinary Barbie doll and Ken doll giftset. Inspired by Zac's sister, muse, and creative partner Alexandra, Barbie doll wears an extravagant, violet blue, pleated china silk gown, belted and worn with a golden arm band. Ken doll is the perfect designer, wearing jeans, a pintucked tuxedo shirt, and handsome silk shantung jacket. The studio is crammed with all the accoutrements a designer needs: bolts of fabric, sewing notions, bulletin board with pinned inspiration. And the final must-have accessory: Zac's own best friend, his black dog Tina.
