War Master Sd.Kfz.3a Half-Track Maultier Vehicle TK0040 New

Designed as a half-track conversion of the popular Opel Blitz truck, the Maultier (Mule) entered production in 1942. The advancing German army soon realized that 4-wheel drive vehicles were no match for the wet and muddy conditions encountered on the Eastern Front in wintertime. Opel Blitz trucks were hastily converted to half-track configuration using left over Panzer I track assemblies. In some cases, the conversion was even carried out in the field. The vehicle was neither fast nor maneuverable but it served its purpose and kept supply chains moving in less than ideal conditions.
