Description
Schylling Collector Series tin toys are inspired by the toys from the past. These toys are made today using the same time-honored techniques that were employed by the toymakers of a bygone era. Each toy starts as a flat sheet of metal which is printed and then cut into its many separate pieces. Each piece is then formed into its final shape by passing it through numerous tooling stations until its final shape is achieved. These separate pieces are then hand assembled to create a single finished tin toy. 58 different pieces are used in this tin toy's construction. Because this is such a labor intensive process, it is easy to see why tin toy production was quickly abandoned when plastic molding was developed. Now, these tin toys are sought after by collectors around the world.
