Description
This bus was built primarily for the London General Omnibus Co. by A.E.C. of Walthamstow, London. It was basically a larger version of the "K" type (1919-1922). The S-type was a goods-coach passenger chassis powered by a J-type 4 cylinder 5.1 litre 35 h.p. side-valve petrol engine with a three- speed gearbox. It was equipped with rod- operated fully manual brakes & worm and wheel rear-axle. The seating capacity was 54, 24 downstairs (inside) and 30 upstairs (outside). It was in service from 1922-1931.
