Vultak is the sadistic keeper of the Horde zoo. A birdlike creature with large feathered wings, Vultak delights in capturing unique beasts for Hordak's bizarre menagerie. In addition to his innate ability to fly, Vultak possesses an amulet which enables him to transform into an all-consuming shadow. In this form, he envelops and seizes unwary creatures for his master's zoo. Vultak once led a major Horde air strike on Eternia. He and Stratos became mortal enemies after Vultak slew many Avionians during the infamous Battle of Xarkoran. A grimly determined Stratos subsequently defeated Vultak in one-on-one aerial combat and sent the villain careening out of the sky. Although Vultak survived the encounter, he seethes with a desire for revenge. As a means to this end, he secretly seeks the components of the dreaded Sunbird weapon which he intends to use against Avion.
