Marvel Fantastic Four the Thing 5" Mini-Bust Bowen Designs #5353

Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's irascible Thing helped launch Marvel's Silver Age in November of 1961. Benjamin J. Grimm endured a rocky childhood in New York's Yancy Street slums, but through familial support found redemption and earned a university football scholarship. Recruited by college roommate Reed Richards to test pilot an experimental space-craft, Ben and the ship's three passengers were genetically altered by cosmic radiation. Grimm. permanently meta-morphosed into a hideous, crag-encrusted powerhouse and as the Thing, co-founded the Fantastic Four rallying his comrades with his battle cry, "It's clobberin time!"

Despite his grotesque appearance. the Thing is the most human of the FF. repeatedly risking his life for his companions and even stepping aside when his girlfriend Alicia Masters fell In love with his teammate the Torch Grimm's non-FF adventures include solo sojourns into space and a stint with the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation. Recently, the Thing has and his fantastic friends barely survived an epic struggle with the goliath known as Abraxas.
