Star Wars: A Vintage Twist On Our Favorite Modern Action Figures
Star Wars: A Vintage Twist On Our Favorite Modern Action Figures
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, we discovered our new favorite toys, along with the timeless legacy of Star Wars! A beloved American saga created in the 70’s by George Lucas, it’s rare to interact with someone who hasn’t heard of a Star Wars movie, tv show, comic, or cartoon. But what’s just as iconic as the movies and media themselves? The action figures and toys of course! Everyone from serious adult collectors to fun-loving kids has enjoyed their favorite characters in 3-D.
Depending on who you ask, the best Star Wars action figures date all the way back to 1977, but every decade featured iconic ways to recreate our favorite movie memories, make a story of our own creation, or allow our home decor to become one with the force.
Hasbro has been adding characters and scenes to the Vintage Collection since 2010. Newer releases feature favorites from Disney Plus’s The Mandalorian and Boba Fett, while iconic scenes from the Empire Strikes Back and Attack of the Clones have been flying off shelves for years.
Out with the old? Star Wars says no in their Vintage Collection
But there’s a key question some are asking: what’s so special about The Vintage Collection? It takes modern Star Wars characters and scenery, twisting them with heavy inspiration from classic 1970s toys. It’s something Star Wars fans have never seen before, and the sold-out tags everywhere prove the love and adoration for the old meeting up with the new in order to create something totally unique.
Your favorites get the 70s treatment!
Fans of the veteran character Ahsoka from The Clone Wars will be surprised to discover that she has been given a vintage flair in her new figure, complete with two lightsabers that are always ready for battle.
Even recently introduced fan favorites are included; for example, characters from the latest Clone Wars spin-off, The Bad Batch, have already been added to the roster of characters available as vintage-styled figures, with main character Hunter being the most recent addition.
Larger than life: The Black Series
Both the Black Series and the Vintage Collection are very popular, and for good reason; each one has an incredible variety of cherished characters. The Black Series makes exclusive versions of stormtroopers, Palpatine, Chewbacca, and a disguised Boba Fett dressed in a sleek, rare black…and a frequently-seen ‘sold-out’ banner!
The Black Series of Star Wars toys have a height of 6 inches, making them a star-studded addition to any assortment. In comparison, the Vintage Collection of Star Wars figures has a height of 3.75 inches, a more flexible option for both serious and casual collectors.
