Mattel’s New Collaborations are Cutting-Edge in the Toy Industry

Collabs might be one of the most exciting events a toy collector could dream about, and for Mattel, it’s never a disappointment. Here are just some of our favorite collaborations between Mattel and other icons we love.

Elvira x Monster High

Following booming collaborations with The Shining, Beetlejuice, IT, Gremlins, and other classic cinematic horror characters, Mattel’s popular series Monster High welcomes a new Skullector doll to their lineup: beloved icon Elvira, Mistress of the Dark!

Elvira arrived just in time to say Boo! on Friday the 13th, and minutes after her release on Mattel Creations, the doll had sold out. Fans who sadly missed out flocked to social media to make their voices heard––but instant “sold-out” signs aren’t new to Mattel or Monster High.

Monster High’s Elvira is rocking her signature look with a twist. The doll sports a shimmery slit dress with nylon stockings and stilettos––all with spiderweb printings. Her iconic hair matches her glamorous makeup, beauty mark, and high-quality painted spider-webbing in her irises. Her accessories consist of silver snake earrings, her go-to dagger, and of course, her mystical ring. As a finishing touch, she has shiny black painted nails to complete the spooktacular look!

The doll originally sold for $65 plus shipping and tax, but now? Collectors who missed out could end up paying almost $200!

Maserati x Barbie

Drive the official Barbie car all the way to your dream house! In honor of the upcoming live-action movie, and the evergreen trend of the “Barbiecore,” aesthetic, Italian luxury vehicle manufacturer Maserati teamed up with Mattel to produce a life-size (yes, you read that right!) Hot Barbie-pink Grecale SUV. For $330,000, a Barbie fan can quite literally buy their dream car! The best part? A portion of the sales go towards Mattel’s Barbie Dream Gap Project, helping young girls reach their full potential since 2019.

At We-R-Toys, we LOVE Barbie! That’s why you can find exciting rarities like the Sunsational Malibu doll from 1981 or the coveted Barbie Porshe collaboration from 1993!

WWE x Mattel

Wreak some havoc and recreate iconic moments from your favorite WWE showdowns! For years, Mattel has supplied WWE lovers with high-quality action figures of their favorite wrestlers with amazing amounts of articulation and extreme accessories sure to wow!

Eyeing some collectible WWE action figures? We-R-Toys features your favorite wrestlers…some starting at 50% off!

Museum of Graffiti x UNO

A card deck that’s sure to inspire, Mattel Creations and the Museum of Graffiti featured a limited edition UNO card deck with stellar artwork supplied by street artists all around the world. Capturing more wild cards than a normal UNO deck makes game night more competitive, celebrating art rebels everywhere. This was a made-to-order item at the time of release, and is now considered extremely rare––and sold out everywhere.

Hot Wheels x Gucci

While not life-sized like its Barbie x Maserati relative, this Mattel car is still taking off in style! Iconic brand Gucci teamed up with Mattel to immortalize the 70s Cadillac Seville as a 1:64 scale for Gucci’s 100th anniversary. It’s the first collectible toy from Gucci and Hot Wheels’ first luxury fashion collaboration, retailing at $120 and reselling at a whopping $400.

Spice up your Hot Wheels collection with racecars dating all the way back to 1981!

Nike x Hot Wheels x Paul George

Want the coolest sneakers in the neighborhood and a model racecar to match? Look no further than Mattel’s collaboration with Hot Wheels and NBA All-Star Paul George. The 1:64 scale figurine sports the Nike logo with blue flames and Paul George’s “13” logo. You can take your collection further with the matching PG 6 “Hot Wheels” Basketball shoes and be ready for the court and the racetrack.

Love the NBA as much as we do? Check out our action figures and find your favorite athlete for an amazing deal.

Mattel has always manufactured toys that dazzle and capture fans’ hearts and attention, but Mattel pairing up with our favorite brands and people take adoration to the next level. At We-R-Toys, we take pride in our Mattel exclusives!
