Description
Stylish and strong, the 1957 Chevrolet® heavy-duty trucks were a popular choice with fire departments across the nation. Powered by a 322-cubic-inch V-8 with a 5-speed transmission, this dependable 10500 series truck was purchased new by the Fredericksburg Fire Company No. 1 in rural Pennsylvania. Equipped with a 500-GPM main pump and an 850-psi high-pressure fog pump, it could deliver a steady stream of water-even while in motion! Affectionately nicknamed "Hurdy-Gurty" by the Fredericksburg firemen, the truck provided faithful service for almost 40 years. Now painstakingly restored, it is displayed regularly as part of a private collection.
