The Mobile Fighter Shining Gundam is assigned to martial arts champion Domon Kasshu. Designed expressly for close hand-to-hand combat, its main weapons are beam swords carried at the waist. The Shining Gundam's most devastating attack, however, is the high-temperature Shining Finger grip, which can instantly destroy the head of an enemy mobile fighter. To use this weapon, the Shining Gundam must change into its open-faced "Battle Mode." Under extreme conditions, Domon can power up his Gundam into a high-performance "Super Mode."
