At the beginning of each football season, the United States Naval Academy of Annapolis sets its course for gridiron victory. It's been a Naval tradition since the team was formed in 1879.

Since that first season, the Navy team has successfully scuttled a long list of opponents and captured a number of trophies. There are scores of notable Annapolis 'Midshipmen' among the ranks of the All-Americans, and two Navy players have even brought home the coveted Heisman: Roger Staubach in 1963 and Joe Bellino in 1960.
