Desert Storm had pilots of the 101st Airborne Division, the Screaming Eagles, taking part in the largest helicopter assault in military history. Soaring in with massive amounts of troops and equipment, the ground assault was able to maintain its hard drive through Iraqi territory. UH-60A Black Hawks were deployed for medevac / search and rescue, to extract the wounded and downed pilots. These brave pilots maintained standard procedures, which requires the medevacs to hang back several miles, ready to move on a moments notice while under the covering fire of gunships.
