Description
In the mid-fifties, though still awestruck by his rising stardom, Elvis' teen idol look is unique and striking, with his checked jacket, inscribed guitar and attitude to spare. His naturally brown, wavy hair and sultry expression set him apart from the rest of the music scene. His clothes came from Memphis' famous Beale Street, where he became absorbed in the black blues and gospel music he heard there.
By 1955, Elvis' revolutionary persona - mixing hard country twang, sensual rhythm and blues, and passionate gospel - was fully formed. This southern style recipe of Rock 'n Roll is heard in such early Elvis singles as "That's All Right" and "Good Rockin' Tonight."
This poseable, 12" special edition Elvis doll beautifully captures a pivotal moment in Elvis' career, the transition from regional celebrity to international superstar.
