'Bobby' Woll was born September 1st, 1922 in Wemmetsweiller in the Saarland. After his schooling, he worked as a laborer and electrician before enlisting in the Waffen in August 1941. By the time he had joined Wittman's crew, Sturmmam Woll had already earned the Iron cross and class and the Silver Wound Badge while serving with Totenkopf Division.
