Dept. 56 Dickens Village Gate House - Introduced and retired in 1992. This piece was not available for general sale and it was only available at special authorized dealer one-day open houses, making this a very rare piece.
Originated as tower over fortified entrance of a castle's perimeter wall. Brick base with arched entry made for passage of carriages and wagons. Windows generally narrow and shuddered to close against weather and for attack. This building does not light up.
Vividly colored and crisply detailed with the fine craftsmanship for which Department 56 is known.
