The roots of our modern Halloween celebrations lie in the past. In Dickens time, the occasion was called All Hallows' Eve and marked the evening when the veil between the world of the living and the world of the dead was at it's thinnest. It was believed that spirits from the past would walk the earth, leading to many historical traditions that Department 56 is pleased to present in All Hallows' Eve.
