The roots of our modern Halloween celebrations lie in the past. In Dickens' time, the occasion was called All Hallows' Eve and marked the evening when the veil between the world of the living and the world of the dead was at its thinnest. It was believed that spirits from the past would walk the earth, leading to many historical traditions that Department 56 is pleased to present in All Hallows' Eve.
Heritage Village Collection accessories and figurines enhance the unique charm of the lighted pieces in any display. Over the years improved design, sculpting, and hand-painting techniques have resulted in pieces increasingly more detailed and colorful.
