Description
This item is adapted from or inspired by a design or illustration in our Warshaw Collection.
The Warshaw Collection of Business Americana located in the Archives Center of our National Museum of American History, Behring Center, is a vast assemblage of business ephemera. Victorian-era postcards, greeting cards, letterheads, catalogues, advertisements and commerce-related memorabilia.
Acquired by the Smithsonian Institution in 1967, this group of over one million items was the collection of Isadore Warshaw, a New York bookseller, who was concerned that the business community lacked interest in preserving its past. From the 1920s through the late 1960s, Warshaw assembled his enormous collection.
Income from our sales supports the chartered educational purposes and activities of the Smithsonian Institution.
