A minion of The Master with a predilection for inflicting pain for pure entertainment, Vampire Willow made such an indelible mark on the Buffy landscape in that Initial appearance that Joss Whedon brought her back seven episodes later in "Dopplegangland."

In "Dopplegangland," Willow's botched spell helps Anya to summons Vampire Willow to this dimension, setting off a chain of classic mistaken identity situations involving the two disparate Willows. The two Willows eventually come face-to-face and share an admittedly bizarre connection that causes Buffy and gang to take pity on the fish out of water vampire. After some inappropriate touching, a relieved Willow returns Vamp Willow to her dimension to live out her ultimately abbreviated destiny.
