What do we know about Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind ride at Disney World's EPCOT?

The Opening of the Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind ride at Disney World's EPCOT on May 27 is the new hot topic among Marvel fans, Walt Disney fans, and roller coaster junkies. Being only a few days away from its official opening, there are many questions regarding the ride. What is so special about it? Does it have a gift shop? What are people saying? Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind is a roller coaster with rotating ride vehicles. It is made by Vekoma, the Dutch coaster design company responsible for many popular Disney attractions, such as TRON Lightcycle and The Barnstormer, to name a few. It is said to be one of the longest fully-enclosed coasters in the world, which is one of the main factors why the ride is already popular even before its official opening.

The 3-minute ride’s seating arrangement is 2 rows per vehicle, with 2 guests being able to sit in each row. Thanks to its height requirement of 42", children around the ages of 5-6 years old who meet the height requirement are able to enjoy Cosmic Rewind too, making this an accessible experience for families. There are 6 songs that can play throughout the ride. This selection includes songs from Blondie, Gloria Estefan, and Tears for Fears, among others that Star-Lord would definitely approve of.

Cosmic Rewind will be part of the ‘Wonders of Xandar’ pavilion, which is the name given to this Guardians of the Galaxy themed-land. This pavilion will be located in the World Discovery land of Epcot. Wonders of Xandar will be the first other-world pavilion in Epcot.

Wonders of Xandar will also include different features such as the Galaxarium, The Xandar Gallery, and if you love Guardians of the Galaxy merch, ‘Treasures of Xandar’ will be the place to go! Disney cast members alongside people who have been part of the soft launch have very positive things to say about the ride. A cast member mentioned during a Reddit AMA that the coaster is an excellent addition to Epcot and a great family coaster. Another person said the ride could be described as a mixture between Space Mountain and Rock N' Roller.

Even before its opening, Cosmic Rewind is already making history by being Disney’s first roller coaster with a reverse launch and by being the first Marvel attraction at Disney. That’s why so many superhero fans and roller coaster junkies are looking forward to the ride’s opening.
