Learn about American Sign Language (ASL) with Barbie! I use sign language to talk to my class of boys and girls who are deaf or hard of hearing. Some of the kids can only hear some of the words I say. Others do not hear anything at all, but feel the vibration of music or other loud sounds. The hearings aids that many of the kids wear help make the words and sounds louder. Some deaf kids lip read, some sign, or some do both. Sometimes an "interpreter" signs for me while I am speaking. You may have seen interpreters at concerts or plays. My students are kids just like you; they love to learn all kinds of things. I hope you enjoy learning about sign language!
