Secret of the Three Teardrops book gives readers a taste of one of the enchanting cities in the world, as well as an adventure full of romance, mystery, and the ties of family and friendship.

American museum director Barbie is in the Venice, Italy, to attend a masquerade ball being held in the city's largest museum. Barbie doll's ballgown has been copied from a picture of a wedding dress worn by an Italian countess many years ago. The stunning bridal gown had three perfect sapphires sewn into the bodice which became known as the Three Teardrops because of the mysterious romantic story associated with them.

Over the years, the dress was lost. But the priceless blue jewels have been saved. Now they are displayed in a locked case in the museum, where Barbie goes for her fitting. While imitation gems are being put on Barbie doll's gown, the real sapphires disappear. All her new friends are now suspects. To clear their names, Barbie must gather clues from all over the city and dig back into history. But it isn't until the masquerade ball that the surprising secret of the Three Teardrops is finally revealed.
