Description
During the Renaissance in the beautiful city of Florence, the king and queen's daughter lives in a fantastic castle. This is a wonderful era of learning and growth. The city is home to writers, architects, musicians, and philosophers. The princess especially likes to watch artists as they paint city scenes.
The princess is very lucky because she goes to school. She studies Latin, math, philosophy, and grammar. For the first time, books are printed instead of written by hand, and so the princess has a small library that she treasures. When she is finished studying, she likes to play games. Primero is her very favorite card game, but Noddy and La Bete are also fun. Chess. and doublets are great board games. Italian traders just brought back a new game from China called dominoes which is wonderful. When the princess is ready for harder games, she challenges her friend the court jester to rhyming contests. She always wins!
Today, the princess is very excited because she will attend a tournament at the palace. There will be jousting and archery competitions. Musicians will play and dancers will dance. But most of all the princess loves to watch the acrobats juggle, sword-swallow, and eat fire! They know many tricks and magic feats that are mesmerizing!
