Skipper 50th Anniversary Doll is from the Gold Label Collection of Barbie® Collector and commemorates Skipper Roberts's 1964 debut.

The Roberts's family tree in Willows, Wisconsin grew in 1964 when Barbie doll's little sister Skipper arrived. For 50 years, Skipper has looked up to her big sister, wearing her own versions of Barbie® fashions, joining in adventures, and even appearing in Barbie® movies!

Skipper doll has been a favorite in the Barbie family ever since her debut. Arriving five years after Barbie doll, she was 9-1/4 inches of pure cuteness, dressed in a red and red/white striped bathing suit. She was so popular, Skipper soon had her own entourage of friends, including Ricky and Skooter.

Skipper 50th Anniversary Doll celebrates a very special event. Skipper wears a re-creation of 1965's Happy Birthday fashion #1919 from the 1900 Series. The sleeveless, blue bodice features white lace embellishments. Blue floral embroidery decorates the full white skirt. The blue embroidery motif is picked up on the white eyelet petticoat's hem. Blue beribboned "straw" boater hat tops off the adorable ensemble. Also included are replicas of the original accessories: a golden "wrapped" birthday gift and, of course, a birthday "cake" with six "candles!"
