Description
The name "Asha" means life in Swahili...and celebrate life she does in her exciting dress of bright colors.
Purple dots and fancy ric-rac trim accent the fun of the long, flared skirt, and a golden sheen wrap decorates the bodice.
Adding to the party are the joyful colors and designs of West African Kente cloth used here on the dress borders and festive head wrap.
"Kente" is a special cotton cloth woven on narrow looms. In earlier times it was known as the fabric of royalty because many rulers wore it.
Your Asha doll wears her Kente cloth to honor her African heritage.
