From the 1920s through the 1950s, the Berkshire steam locomotive brought great power and dependability to freight transport on American railways. Its brute strength and economical design made it a natural choice for main line duty across the country. Due to its enduring popularity, Lionel immortalized this train in its 1947 2129WS Freight set.

Modeled after an original Boston & Albany Berkshire, the 726 locomotive rolled along "O" gauge track on its distinctive 2-8-4 wheel arrangement. It captured Lionel's postwar design ethic, with scale detail, a working headlight, and real smoke puffing from its track.

This Hallmark Keepsake Ornament features wheels that turn. It is handcrafted and metal.
