Joseph Hrudka, Founder of the Mr Gasket Company

The Performance Pioneer Series has, to date, honored eight industry leaders who created their companies in the 1940's and 1950's. For our ninth honoree we move to one of the dominant performance companies started in the 1960's.

Joe Hrudka was a successful drag racer who identified a problem and went about solving it with ingenuity. His record holding gas coupe drag car suffered from a common problem of the period: engine gasket failure. He found superior gasket material, made gaskets with it, and tested them on his own car. Not only did they work but they were reusable as well. His gaskets were so successful other racers soon asked him to make sets for their engines. The rest is history.

Throughout more than 25 years, the growth and success of the Mr. Gasket Company has been based on offering quality products. A tradition started with Joe Hrudka's first pair of exhaust header gaskets for his small block Chevrolet drag engine.

Although it's been some years since Joe has been behind the wheel of his gasser, his interest in hot rods, street rods, and customs is stronger than ever.

The Mr. Gasket Company was born in the 60's and is still growing in the 90's. Founder and CEO Joe Hrudka has earned his place in the Eastwood Automobilia Performance Pioneer Series. In honor of his achievements, a Gold Eliminator level donation will be made in his name to the SEMA Scholarship Fund.
