Models of Yesteryear Harrods Bread Green Walker Electric Van Matchbox 1984 NRFP

The Walker 1 Ton Balance Drive Electric Truck was manufactured by the Walker Vehicle Company, Chicago U.SA. During the early twenties, Harrods Limited had a fleet of 60 vehicles in the distinctive green and cre livery, and these electric vans were used to deliver goods to Harrods customers throughout London

The van is driven by an electric motor, developing 31 H.P., contained within the differential housing of the rear axle. The vans had a range of around 50-60 miles per charge, depending on the gradients, with a maumuni speed of 12 m.p.h.

Today, the only known example is owned by Harrods Limited, Knightsbridge, and can be seen taking part in the annual historical Commercial Vehicle London to Brighton Run.
