Description
The German military involvement in North Africa was a gesture of support for its Axis partners and eventually involved the legendary Erwin Rommel.
Arriving in Tripoli in 1941 Rommel's forces were made up of a variety of fully motorised and support elements. Among these were the "Gebirgsjäger" or Mount??? Troops. Elements from these units known as the Afrikakorps battled the British 8th Army
throughout the campaign.
